EOG Resources FUNomenal Spring Break – a lively, weeklong series of special cultural performances plus interactive S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) activities – is back at Houston’s beloved Discovery Green from Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15. The packed calendar of offerings is complemented with extended weekday hours of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Houston’s only outdoor roller rink. Skating fees apply.
Monday kicks off with a showcase of Nature Around Us by Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective. Nature Around Us is a heartwarming narrative about preserving our planet and the harmony between nature and the environment. Attendees will further enjoy the afternoon, hosted by The Dopest Historian, with performances by RSA of Dance and Performing Arts, Mommy and Me: The Listers and DJ YungChris. Additional cultural performances will take place throughout the week.
In addition to programming led by GirlStart, one of the longest-running nonprofit organizations devoted to empowering girls in STEM, this year’s line-up includes a Collab-Lab mobile classroom, Mad Science demonstrations and music lessons from Dinky Drum.

• 12-4 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of entertainment hosted by The Dopest Historian and featuring performances by RSA of Dance and Performing Arts, Mommy and Me: The Listers and DJ YungChris, plus a special presentation of Nature Around Us. Through dance and storytelling, Nature Around Us follows Granny Griot and her grandkids, Zion and Nia, as they uncover the mystery of disappearing bees in their garden. The heartwarming tale about preserving our planet and the harmony between nature and the environment is produced by Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective under the artistic direction of Stacey Allen with guest co-writer Sister Mama Sonya and co-choreographer Tobaric Atkins Montana.
