Kinder HSPVA to Perform Dance Inspired by Discovery Green Winter Art Installation

Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Dance Students will perform a dance inspired by Discovery Green’s winter art installation, Solstice, by Studio Iregular. Guest choreographer, Laura Gutierrez, worked with students to create a new piece responding to the site.

A few fun facts about some of the migratory birds featured in Here and Now: When birds migrate, they use the sun, the moon and other celestial bodies, as well as the earth’s magnetic field, to navigate. Some migratory birds have magnetic minerals like iron in their beaks that help them navigate, or a particular protein in their eyes that help them “see” magnetic fields.
