Discovery Green, the 12-acre urban oasis in the middle of Downtown Houston, is the city’s best place to enjoy the holidays with a winter light presentation, live music, and cultural celebrations thanks to the Cultural Holiday Passport series presented by PNC Bank.

Visitors can stroll under the 100-year-old live oak trees along the Brown Promenade. The canopy of branches is bright with Winter White Lights perfect for holiday family portraits. Illuminated every day now through January 31, the dazzling display highlights the natural beauty of the beloved trees.

Special events associated with the Cultural Holiday Passport presented by PNC Bank, include a holiday concert featuring the Houston Grand Opera with music from many cultures and traditions, an iconic silent movie by French filmmaker Georges Méliès, followed by community celebrations for Lunar New Year and Black History Month.

All tickets must be purchased online in advance. Tickets go on sale Nov. 1

Jones Lawn

The Jones Lawn is the largest green space at Discovery Green®, and therefore offers panoramic views of the Park and unobstructed views of the downtown skyline. The Lawn is an exceptional manicured space that can accommodate almost any large gathering. It is the site of major events such as Discovery Green’s festivals or pick-up sports. The Convention District Garage lies directly below the Jones Lawn. From charity galas, festivals or concerts for hundreds or thousands, the Jones Lawn can make any event a memorable and magical occasion.
