About the park

Discovery Green was created by a public-private partnership between the nonprofit Discovery Green Conservancy and the City of Houston. Since opening in April of 2008 the Conservancy has welcomed more than 25 million visitors.

The Conservancy fulfills its mission by offering continuous programming, attracting a diverse crowd, and maintaining a beautiful park. It works with numerous community partners to present free, dynamic programming highlighting Houston arts, culture, diversity and talents.
