Little BIPOC Book Fest

The Little BIPOC Book Fest invites children ages 3 to 10 to explore diverse books featuring Black, Indigenous and People of Color experiences with local children’s authors and book vendors. This year’s festival is hosted by storytime performer Miss Alivia Reads and spotlights an interactive dance exploration of culture and movement with Houston performance artist Stacey Allen, the author of “D is for Dance: Dancing Through the Diaspora.”

Sarofim Picnic Lawn
The Sarofim Picnic Lawn is a wide-open lawn space that is perfect for more than just a picnic. The Lawn is near the John P. McGovern Playground, the Mist Tree, and the Kinder Large Dog and the Harriet and Joe Foster Dog Runs, making it a perfect place for family get-togethers, such as reunions or birthday parties. The Lawn can also accommodate small private corporate events or client receptions. The Lawn has two permanent picnic tables, and borders the Andrea and Bill White Promenade.
