Against the backdrop of Houston's dramatic skyline, there is tremendous potential to make your event memorable. Several ideal locations at Discovery Green are available for private and public rentals. Event spaces can accommodate events from 15 up to 4,000 people.

With twelve acres across from the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, Discovery Green will be an ideal location to host your corporate event, special occasion or children's birthday party.
Birthday Parties
Discovery Green is an ideal place for children’s birthday parties. Groups of 20 or more (including children and adults) must have a rented space in the park for parties/gatherings.
If you have less than 20 people in your group you are not required to rent a space; however you would not have a reserved area in the park & you would be required to follow Park Rules, as well as Birthday Party Rules. If your party exceeds 20 people you will be asked to break your party down. You are allowed to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics. It is prohibited to bring tables, pop up tents, alcohol, glass containers and bbq grills.
The Stedman West Veranda (Area 5A) is available for rent between Tuesdays - Fridays only. This area is not available on weekends or holidays because the area is very crowded. Download our Birthday Contract for pricing and other information.

Hosting An Event
We have produced or hosted over 800 events and welcomed almost 2 million visitors since opening. Our staff is truly committed to the vision of this park as a civic treasure and will work with you to make your event spectacular. Our venue license process has been developed to allow a small staff to manage a busy public space. The Event Planning Guide contains all the information you need to plan an event at Discovery Green. Once you have reviewed the process and policies, please complete an Event Application and submit it to: gary@discoverygreen.com.
