HOUSTON – Bank of America’s Screen on the Green, Houston’s premier, free outdoor film experience, puts the spotlight on Discovery Green with screenings of family friendly movies.
Additionally, ahead of the Barbie showtime on Saturday, March 2 and in honor of Women’s History Month in March, Discovery Green will host the complimentary Girls on the Green at 4 p.m. The women-led lineup of activities and entertainment will include a panel discussion moderated by Discovery Green Conservancy board member Staci LaToison, featuring Miss Texas 2023/Miss America runner-up, Ellie Breaux and other women of achievement. The afternoon will also include a women makers’ market and entrepreneur showcase, dragon boat demonstration from breast cancer survivors, mammograms from The Rose, and fun photo opportunities such as life-sized Barbie boxes to a colorful set of Cars by Pink Thangz.
“Discovery Green is thrilled to bring beloved movies to the park for all to enjoy – free and against a dramatic backdrop of trees and skyline,” said Discovery Green Conservancy President Kathryn Lott. “This season’s series also celebrates extraordinary women of all generations through Girls on the Green, an afternoon jam-packed with inspiring people, panel and performances.”
Screenings begin at 7 p.m. Families are encouraged to arrive early for games and activities. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, camping chairs and snacks. Please leave alcohol and glass containers at home. Food, beer and wine are available for purchase at The Lake House.
