Houston’s citywide Halloween celebration includes a costume contest, music, and “Hocus Pocus”
WHAT: Discovery Green is thrilled to present Scream on the Green®, Houston’s citywide Halloween celebration. The event returns with a costume contest, music, and a screening of Hocus Pocus presented by One Medical
Costumes will be judged based on originality, execution, and overall appearance. Contest prizes include tickets to Green Mountain Energy Ice at Discovery Green, gift cards to The Grove, an H-E-B Celebration Zone reservation, and more.
There are six costume categories:
- Infant to 8 years old
- 9 – 18 years old
- Best adult male
- Best adult female
- Best family costume
- Best dog costume.
Music will be provided by DJ Mohawk Steve while roaming characters by Cirque Olympus will entertain the crowd. Hocus Pocus will be shown as part of Scream on the Green®.

6 – 10 pm
Schedule:
6:45 – 8:15 pm – Costume contest registration at the Anheuser-Busch stage
7 pm – Costume Contest begins
7:30 pm – Hocus Pocus screening presented by One Medical (1993, PG 96 min)
9:30 pm – Costume Contest winners announced
