A few fun facts about some of the migratory birds featured in Here and Now:
When birds migrate, they use the sun, the moon and other celestial bodies, as well as the earth’s magnetic field, to navigate. Some migratory birds have magnetic minerals like iron in their beaks that help them navigate, or a particular protein in their eyes that help them “see” magnetic fields.
Bank of America Screen on the Green Returns to Discovery Green® This Winter
Discovery Green, the 12-acre park in the heart of downtown Houston, brings back Bank of America Screen on the Green during its Winter 2019–2020 Season. Part of the Xfinity Entertainment Series, these popular screenings present family-friendly movies with a scenic view of the downtown Houston skyline.
Discovery Green Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that depends on the generosity of park visitors and other friends to maintain the park and to fund the more than 600+ free events held here every year. We welcome gifts of all sizes.
