Who Supports the Park
Opened in 2008, the 12-acre park, located in the heart of downtown Houston, is a public-private partnership between the City of Houston and Discovery Green Conservancy.
Our Mission is to:
- Create and sustain an uncommonly beautiful urban green space in the heart of Houston
- Serve as a village green for our city and a source of health and happiness for our citizens
- Provide a window into the incredible diversity of talents and traditions that enrich life in Houston
As a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, each year Discovery Green Conservancy must raise $1.5 million to continue to maintain and operate the park. The ability to provide quality programming at no cost to the public is a true gift to the city.
Over the last two years, Discovery Green has garnered the support of foundations, corporations and individuals to support our three dynamic programming seasons and 800+ free events.
