When it comes to entertainment, Discovery Green has something for everyone. Our newest addition to the entertainment line-up is our Rock-tober Lunchtime Concert Series. Every Wednesday from 11:30  - 1 pm, you’re invited to take in some fresh air, listen to great music and enjoy the best lunch break in town!

October 16: Grandfather Child

Grandfather Child released their self-titled debut record in August 2012. The album combines elements of psychedelia, blues, country, R&B and modern black gospel. Grandfather has been touring the nation since their release, and we are thrilled to welcome them back to Discovery Green! If you didn’t catch their performance during our fall 2012 Thursday Concert series, don’t miss their performance this time around!

October 23: Zydeco Dots
Co-sponsored by 90.1 FM KPFT and 90.9 FM KTSU
This fun-loving, hard-working, talented Houston based groups plays a dancin’, rockin’ bluesiana blend of Zydeco rhythm and blues. They can be found all over the Houston area including Houston International Festival, Mardi Gras, the Texas Crayfish Festival, and right here at Discovery Green! For the past six years, The Houston Press has chosen them Zydeco Band of the year.

October 30: Kristine Mills
co-sponsored by 90.1 KPFT
Concluding the series is acclaimed and award-winning singer-songwriter Kristine Mills. Her recent album, asYETuntitled, is her fifth CD and she celebrated with performances in Houston and New York in spring 2013. She has been named “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best Songwriter” by the Houston Press and is currently nominated by the publication for “Best Pop Artist”!
