Jenni Bowman has been named event coordinator for Discovery Green, Susanne Theis, programming director, announced June 10, 2013. Bowman began June 3 and immediately assumed her responsibilities which include managing the park’s event logistics, coordinating licensed park events, and liaising with park partners and event staff.

“We are thrilled to have such a respected and talented event producer join our team,” Theis said. “Jenni brings with her an abundance of knowledge and enthusiasm, and we’re confident she will successfully execute the 400+ free events Discovery Green hosts each year with a fresh perspective, unrelenting drive and an impressive level of logistical expertise.”

A native of Katy, Texas, Bowman joins Discovery Green after seven years in New York managing and producing arts and music festivals, science festivals, political conferences, parades, and numerous theatre and opera premieres. Career highlights include acting as lead event manager for Philip Glass’ Days & Nights Festival, venue and producer for the World Science Festival, event manager for the Independent Voters Conference, and event producer for the Mermaid Parade.

Bowman graduated with Honors from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, with a BFA in Theatre, emphasis in Stage Management.
