Wondering what to expect from the Flea in December?  Plenty of holiday cheer, for one, plus a great opportunity to do some shopping from local businesses and entrepreneurs!

Houston Public Media presents The Invincible Czars performing their whimsical rock interpretation of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite" with a dance-along Nutcracker.  Children and the young-at-heart can prance and dance to this high-energy performance that features props and plenty of surprises.  Catch the performance from 2pm to 4pm.

Those looking for unique holiday gifts will have 30+ vendor booths to peruse, and will find everything from vintage furniture to jewelry made from old vinyl records.  Olives that are grown, pressed, and bottled in Dripping Springs, TX make up Texas Hill Country Olive Company’s extra virgin olive oil, and are fantastic gifts for friends and neighbors.  Beyond Her has a gorgeous new tote bag; screenprinted on natural linen that has been waxed to create great structure and weatherability, and truly beautiful.  How about a hand-made hula hoop for someone looking for a fun new way to exercise?  Or a funky robot angel made from recycled components?

These are just a few gift ideas for things you’ll find at the Flea in December.  Remember that shopping locally supports the local economy and is always a great idea, and is something you can do year-round at Discovery Green Flea!  Happy holidays to you, and best wishes for a wonderful New Year!
