The ICE at Discovery Green will return Thanksgiving Day 2010!
About The ICE:
With more than 100,000 park visitors the first year,
The Ice at Discovery Green is back and
open daily from Thanksgiving Day through MLK Day. Make Discovery Green your tradition during the holidays with an array of activities offered for families, couples, and visitors to the city. Skate among the downtown skyline on the model boat basin frozen to a frosty 22 degrees using recycled water from Kinder Lake and powered by renewable energy.
Admission $10 (tax and skate rental included).
The 7,200 square-foot skating surface of Kinder Lake features skate, snack and gift shops, as well as the Snow Box—a special, toddler-friendly rink, complete with a visit from Santa. In addition to The Ice, park visitors will enjoy holiday art exhibits including local artist David Graeve’s illuminated globes featuring photos taken by various student groups and a special revival of Andy Mann's Video Tree, a display of stacked televisions that stream the trailblazing video artist's original content through multiple effects. Be sure Discovery Green is on your holiday itinerary!
