UP, UP & AWAY IN THE ADMINISTAFF HOLIDAY BALLOON!

See Houston’s magnificent downtown skyline as never before – floating 35 stories above Discovery Green! Enjoy a spectacular new attraction to this winter programming season at the park. The Administaff Holiday Balloon is a spectacular 60-foot diameter helium-filled balloon anchored to the Jones Lawn that will take up to 17 passengers to a height of 350 feet! Houstonians and visitors will get the ultimate panoramic view of the city during the holidays from the balloon’s rare vantage point.
Weather-permitting, the Administaff Holiday Balloon will fly daily from December 11, 2009 to February 28, 2010. Riders are welcome on a first come first served basis everyday with hours varying. Each flight lasts approximately 8-10 minutes. No reservations can be made in advance (with the exception of private parties). The balloon operating hours may be affected by weather or private parties; call the Balloon Weather Hotline (646) 827-6287 for updates.
The Administaff Holiday Balloon was developed by AeroBalloon, a US-based manufacturer and operator of high performance helium balloon systems. The balloon is a safe, silent, non-combustible, “green operation.” Proceeds from the balloon rides will benefit Discovery Green Conservancy and the park’s free programming.

Admission: $20 adults and $15 children 12 and under during peak hours (weekdays after 5 p.m., weekends & holidays); $15 adults, $10 children 12 and under all other times

About Discovery Green
The Discovery Green Conservancy operates the park. It is a private, non-profit organization formed in 2004 at the behest of the City of Houston’s Mayor Bill White. The Conservancy was charged with funding, designing, building and operating an urban park on the property across from the George R. Brown Convention Center.
