This FREE concert honors Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) and Dr. Robert Morgan, HSPVA Director of Jazz Studies Emeritus (1976 to 1999). The entertainment line up includes talented HSPVA alumni as well as
Al Jarreau and also appearing La Mafia.
LOCATION: Anheuser-Busch Stage and Fondren Performance Space
(Rain location: Jones Lawn, located in the center of the park)
WHEN: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
(The park opens at 4 p.m. on the day of the concert)
COST: Free and open to the public. Food/beverages available for purchase.
ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM
Local headliner *Scott Gertner and KPRC Channel 2's Dominique Sachse will serve as emcees as a stellar group of HSPVA alumni musicians take to the stage to perform a tribute to their beloved director.

Founded in 1971, Houston's internationally acclaimed High School for the Performing and Visual Arts has been a model for subsequent magnet schools throughout the United States and abroad. The school is noteworthy among educational institutions in that students are selected for admission by auditions in the disciplines of theatre, dance, instrumental music, vocal music and visual arts. ABOUT DR. ROBERT MORGAN. Morgan was HSPVA's Director of Jazz Studies from 1976 to 1999. He is a native Houstonian and became enamored of music at a very young age.
