Bring your dad to Discovery Green! At 7 pm live music by POP STARS: Dads Who Rock followed by 8:30pm film screening of "The Best of Children's Film Festival Seattle 2009." A snoozing princess, a gutsy guinea pig who learns to fly and a soccer player who loses his lucky sock - these are just a few of the memorable characters you'll meet in this big-screen presentation. The program features award-winning animation, live action and documentary films from seven countries that will make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings, and take you on a sweet ride through a wide world of moving images. POP STARS is songwriters circle/song swap where four singer songwriters, all fathers, take turns singing their songs and backing each other up with extra instrumentation and vocal harmonies. Four of Austin's best singer songwriters: Michael Fracasso, Nathan Hamilton, Matt the Electrician and Beaver Nelson. In 2005, the Austin Chronicle voted the show "Best Event to Take the Kids and Get a Beer.”
