The Changing Faces of Houston
Celebrate our city! Enjoy live performances by the Tontons, gospel masters Endurance, and others plus testimonies from iconic Houstonians for an evening of community celebration. Dr. Stephen Klineberg of the Kinder Institute of Urban Research presents results of the 2013 Houston Area Survey. 
 
Come early for entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Activities Include: 
  • Make your flag! Local artist Rebecca Bass will lead a hands-on workshop to create individualized flags that will be strung around the park throughout the evening.
  • Meet and greet community partners including Literacy Advance of Houston and Ensemble Theater. 
  • Tweet questions to Dr. Klineberg and share your experience on Instagram using #DGHouston and #DiscoveryGreen. Follow the hashtags for live updates during the event!

Program will include:
  • Houston Public Media’s Ernie Manouse and KPRC Local 2’s Khambrel Marshall will emcee the evening’s program. 
  • Testimonies will be given from iconic Houstonians including Mayor Parker, Hugo Ortega, Jacqueline Martin, Mike Feinberg, Gordon Quan and Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza. 
  • Dr. Stephen Klineberg will present results of the 31st annual Kinder Houston Area Survey.
  • Interactive Q&A session with the audience.
