Toddler Tuesday
Two volunteers are needed on Tuesdays in May to help with various story-time activities. Shifts are 9:30am to 12:30pm.Discovery Green Flea
Volunteers are needed to help set up a Discovery Green Info booth, give information out to vendors and patrons, and to help in other various ways as necessary. Volunteers are needed before, during and after the Flea Market. Shifts are 4pm - 6pm, 6pm – 8pm, and 8pm – 10pm.Discover Your World
Four Volunteers needed to help set up the Discovery Green Information booth, greet guests as they enter the park, help guide seating on the hill, and help staff the Info booth to distribute brochures, sell merchandise and collect email addresses for the park’s weekly e-blast. Recycling at Discovery Green takes place every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Recycling volunteers help patrons take items out of their cars so they don’t have to park to recycle. Volunteers will also help ensure that the items are put into the correct recycling bins. Volunteers choose between two shifts: 10am - noon or noon - 2pm.UHD presents Thursday Concerts
The Thursday Concert Series at Discovery Green takes place Thursday evenings in the Spring and Fall. Volunteers are needed to help with one or all of them—whatever best fits your schedule.Volunteers are needed on Thursdays from 6pm until about 8:30pm. After you volunteer, stay and enjoy the music and dancing!
We ask that volunteers:
- Greet guests as they come into the park.
- Hand cards explaining park rules to each guest with a cooler.
- Help guide seating on the hill.
- Help staff with a marketing table to distribute programming brochures, sell Discovery Green items and collect email addresses.
Wednesday’s Blues & Burgers
Blues & Burgers concerts take place Wednesdays at lunchtime in the Spring and Fall. Volunteers help staff with a marketing table to distribute programming brochures and collect email addresses for the park’s weekly e-blast. Volunteers are needed Wednesdays from 11:15am to 1:15pm.Signature Events
There are a variety of Signature Events at the park. They are generally held on Fridays and Saturdays in the Spring and Fall. Each one is different and unique, so volunteer duties will vary.General Volunteer Information
Volunteers should arrive about 10-15 minutes before their shift to allow time to go into the office, meet the Discovery Green volunteer leader, get a Volunteer T-shirt and instructions. Parking is $1.25 per hour at the meters around the park Monday through Saturday (and free after 6 p.m.). Parking lots are about $5.00 and up. Always read the posted signs, which supersede any instruction from park staff.We are not currently accepting volunteer applications, but please check back the week of May 27th.
