A tango-inspired birthday celebration 100 plus 6 years in the making! Celebrate the Symphony’s centennial and Discovery Green’s sixth birthday with tango music from Rene Casarsa and dancing by The Argentine School of Houston. Also enjoy music and dancing lessons, and the Symphony’s first outdoor performance at Discovery Green as they perform Astor Piazzolla’s work Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. Special thanks to Honorary Chairman, the Honorable Daniel O. Deodato, Consul General of Argentina, Spec’s and the Mayor’s Office of International Communities. Phoenicia Specialty Foods is treating event-goers to empanada samples and will showcase a beautiful, six-tier display cake in honor of Discovery Green’s and the Houston Symphony’s birthdays! Free wine tasting begins at 6:30 pm. Concert starts at 7:30pm.
